Our mission is to inspire and educate families to cook and eat real food together. ChopChop The Fun Cooking Magazine for Families is technically reviewed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and winner of the prestigious James Beard Foundation Award for Publication of the Year. ChopChop provides tools for building essential life skills through the lens of food and cooking. Our team works to create a diverse and inclusive collection of products for children, parents, and older adults, reaching over three million families worldwide.

ChopChop Family is a small, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies on donations, sponsorships, and grants to reach children and families. Your donation will help us empower healthy cooking and eating habits in children.

Whether bananas are your favorite snack or an occasional ingredient in your meals, there’s no denying their goodness. They are one of the least expensive fruits (often less expensive than apples and oranges), are super versatile, and are packed with fiber, potassium, and vitamin C. Plus, bananas are in season all year round! Some of our favorite ways to use them are in banana bread, one-ingredient banana ice cream, and even in a dutch baby!

Warmer weather calls for refreshing bites and, luckily, some of our favorite veggies are in season! Carrots and celery are both at their peak during the spring, and are a great source of fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants. And what better way to level-up this classic veggie combo, than with some ranch? It’s creamy, garlicky, and herby---making it the go-to dip for snackers of all ages. Making it yourself is simple and often tastier and cheaper than the store-bought kind. 

Here’s our recipe!

Ingredients: 
½ cup plain Greek yogurt 
2 tbsp olive oil 
2 tsp white vinegar or lemon juice 
½ tsp mustard (any kind you like) 
1 tsp finely chopped onion (or ½ tsp onion powder) 
1 garlic clove, peeled and minced (or ¼ teaspoon garlic powder) 
1-2 tbsp finely chopped fresh chives, dill, or parsley leaves (or 1 tsp dried dill) 
¼ tsp salt 
¼ tsp black pepper 

Instructions: 
1. Put all the ingredients in the bowl and mix well with a spoon or whisk. Taste the dressing on a lettuce leaf or carrot stick. Does it need more vinegar or herbs or a pinch more salt? If so, add it, then taste again. 
2. Use right away, or cover and refrigerate up to 3 days.
